Canada discontinues UFO investigations

The Canadian government is no longer investigating UFO reports according to newly released documents. While government agencies such as the Department of National Defence used to be responsible for looking in to reports of Unidentified Flying Objects in the skies over Canada, it seems now that authorities have taken to passing on such reports to volunteer civilian investigators. UFO researcher Chris Rutkowski has been publishing the Canadian UFO Survey since 1989 and is one of the few investigators still dealing with reports from members of the public. According to Rutkowski there were
980 reports in 2011 and more still in 2012. "We do notice that for January, February, we are actually quite high in terms of numbers, so probably we’re going to be close to a record once again for 2012," he said. There are so many reports however that it's almost impossible for one man to investigate them all, as it stands his backlog stretches back for 12 months with no sign of improvement any time soon. Since 1989, Rutkowski has been publishing the Canadian UFO Survey, and has been maintaining the Ufology Research blog since 2005. He uses these resources to report on the sightings he receives and his investigations.
