Divers exploring Lake Labynkyr have allegedly discovered mysterious skeletal remains in its depths. The lake has long been associated with stories of a 'Devil' that has been reported as far back as the 19th century, a legend which parallels Scotland's Loch Ness Monster. In a record-breaking diving expedition, the Russian Georgraphical Society Underwater Research Team had been investigating the depths of the freezing lake, recording footage of the bottom and taking samples of the lake's flora, when they came across something rather unusual.
Details are scarce, however according to reports the team are said to have located some mysterious bones using a special underwater scanner. "There have been all sort of hypothesises about what kind of creature it could be: a giant pike, a relic reptile or an amphibia," said Geologist Viktor Tverdokhlebov on the subject of the lake's mysterious inhabitant. "We didn't manage to prove or to disprove these versions... we managed to find remains of jaws and skeleton of some animal." A dozen divers braved legends of monsters and the coldest winter temperatures in a venture that is likely to go into the Guinness World Book of Records.
